From brands who switched
What they said after moving.
“We have extended experience with other options out there. This is the best experience and the steadiest results I have seen across any other software we have worked with.”
HEALiX Infraredpreviously ran four tracking tools “We looked at several competitors and talked to some of their customers. From our research, Upstack was by far the clear winner in terms of data accuracy, customer service and pricing.”
Shopify App Storeverified review “Moved from a competitor to Upstack and have a very clear picture that Upstack is a faster setup, with a much more competent team, amazing customer service, and better performance, for a cheaper price — it’s not even close.”

Common questions
Upstack vs Blotout, answered.
Is Blotout SOC 2 compliant?
Yes. Blotout publicly states it is SOC II Type II certified and displays a SOC 2 badge on its homepage. An earlier version of this page marked them absent on SOC 2, which was wrong, and we have corrected it. If security certification is what you are comparing on, both of us clear that bar.
Does Blotout offer attribution reporting?
Yes — through Data Nexus, which they describe as full-funnel analytics with multi-touch attribution, and a DataNexus Shopify app launched in 2026 from $29.99/mo. The difference is packaging: theirs is a separate module you add, ours is in every plan.
Then what is the real difference?
Scope and billing unit. Blotout is infrastructure for many kinds of company — ecommerce, lead gen, healthcare, publishers — billed per event, assembled from modules. Upstack is one product for DTC Shopify brands, billed per order, with identity and attribution included. Neither is better in the abstract; they suit different buyers.
How does per-event pricing compare to per-order?
Blotout counts billable events, and by their own arithmetic 100,000 events is about 20,000 pageviews across four destinations. So your bill moves with traffic and with how many places you send data. Ours moves with orders only — adding a destination is free.
Do I have to change DNS records?
For Blotout’s first-party setup, yes — their onboarding asks for DNS access and issues a TXT and a CNAME record. Upstack installs from the Shopify app with no DNS changes at all.
What about health and wellness brands?
Blotout prices health & wellness as a separate plan starting at $600/mo, though their FAQ notes that brands not affected by Meta restrictions can start on standard plans. Upstack charges health and wellness brands the same as everyone else, and the compliance filtering is included.
Am I locked into a contract?
Blotout requires an annual commitment on Growth and above, with a 30-day trial and a 60-day opt-out window. Upstack is month to month on every plan.
