Frequently asked questions

How is Upstack different from just adding a server-side tag?

Server-side tags forward events — Upstack resolves identity first, then forwards enriched events. When someone clicks your ad on mobile and buys on desktop a week later, a server-side tag sees two anonymous events. Upstack sees one customer, stitches the journey, and sends a single identity-resolved conversion to your ad platform. That’s why EMQ scores jump and your Klaviyo flows suddenly reach 30–40% more people.

Do I need to configure each integration separately?

No. Once you install Upstack and connect your accounts (under 20 minutes), every integration automatically receives identity-resolved data. There’s no per-destination setup, no tag management, and no data layer to configure.

Will Upstack slow down my store?

Upstack’s tracking is server-side — it doesn’t add JavaScript weight to your storefront. Unlike GTM-based solutions that load client-side scripts on every page, Upstack captures events at the server level. Your page load times stay fast, and ad blockers can’t interfere with data collection.

What if I use a platform that isn’t listed here?

Upstack includes a flexible webhook system for custom destinations. If your tool accepts incoming events via webhook or API, we can connect it. Contact our team and we’ll help you set it up — usually in the same onboarding call.

How does identity resolution improve my existing integrations?

Most marketing tools rely on browser cookies that expire in 7–20 days. Upstack builds a persistent identity graph that lasts up to a year and works across devices. The result: your ad platforms see higher Event Match Quality (EMQ), your email and SMS flows fire for customers who would otherwise be invisible, and your analytics reflect the real customer journey — not a fragmented cookie trail.

Running something else?

Send events from any stack over webhook or direct post. Custom events are resolved, filtered and forwarded exactly like a Shopify order.
