What does each one do?

WeTracked is built to fix one problem: ad platforms seeing fewer purchases than your store records. It captures page views, add-to-carts and orders on your store, enriches them with what it calls a cookie-proof digital fingerprint, and forwards them in real time to the ad accounts you connect. You can filter which orders each platform sees by country, value, product or source, which helps when one store sells into several ad accounts. Its pricing FAQ says it sends events "back to your native pixel" in the format each platform's API expects, so no new dashboard is needed to see the result in Ads Manager. A Pulse dashboard and, on the Business plan and up, Creative Analytics in beta add some reporting of its own.

Triple Whale is where you read results. The Triple Pixel builds probabilistic and deterministic profiles of visitors so sessions from the same person join up. On top sit attribution models, profit and cohort reporting, creative analysis, the Moby AI agent and, on Enterprise, marketing mix modeling and incrementality tests. Our overview of what Triple Whale is goes through each module.

So the honest summary is: WeTracked sends data out, and Triple Whale mostly pulls data in. The overlap is server-side sending.

Where they overlap: sending conversions to ad platforms

Triple Whale's Sonar Optimize sends enriched events server-side to the Conversions APIs of ten ad platforms, with a deduplication key, and it's included in every paid plan. That's the job WeTracked does for Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and X.

The differences sit at the edges:

  • Only Triple Whale passes attribution back. Sonar can tell Meta how Triple Whale credited each order, which appears in Meta as Custom Attribution.
  • Only WeTracked filters orders per ad account. Its country, value, product and source filters suit sellers running several stores or several ad accounts.
  • Triple Whale reaches more ad platforms. Reddit, AppLovin, Realize and ChatGPT Ads are on Sonar's list and not on WeTracked's.

If you run both, let only one send standard events such as Purchase to each platform. Triple Whale's own Sonar Optimize guide warns that two providers sending the same standard events to the same dataset can create duplicates, and it describes a passback-only setup for Meta that runs alongside another Conversions API provider. A week after you set it up, compare Meta's Purchase count with your Shopify orders for the same days. A total well above your order count means two tools are sending.

Attribution and reporting

This is where the two stop being comparable.

Triple Whale is an attribution product first. Its Free plan reports first-click and last-click attribution. Paid plans add multi-touch models, including Total Impact, which weights channels using post-purchase survey answers, plus BI dashboards, cohorts, LTV and profit reporting. Compass adds MMM and incrementality testing on Enterprise or as an add-on. For how first-click and last-click answers differ, see our guide to attribution models.

WeTracked doesn't publish an attribution model. Its Pulse dashboard and Creative Analytics show performance, but the attribution that matters to a WeTracked customer is the one inside Meta, Google and TikTok, now fed more complete data. That's a reasonable design for a small seller who manages ads inside each platform. It isn't a substitute for a cross-channel view of which campaign deserves the next dollar.

WeTracked vs Triple Whale pricing

They're priced on different things: WeTracked on monthly orders, Triple Whale on annual GMV.

WeTracked, per its pricing page:

PlanPrice, billed monthlyOrders a monthStores
Starter$49Up to 500Up to 3
Business$149Up to 3,000Up to 5
Scale-up$249Up to 7,500Up to 10
EnterpriseCustom7,500+Unlimited

Annual billing saves 20%. Every plan has a 14-day free trial, and the FAQ ties its 60-day money-back guarantee to your ROAS rising by 20%.

Triple Whale shows Foundation from $219 a month or $2,190 a year and Automate from $749 a month or $7,490 a year on its Shopify App Store listing. Enterprise is quoted. All paid plans are 12-month subscriptions, and the price rises with your GMV band. The Free plan costs nothing. Our Triple Whale pricing guide covers the bands and add-ons.

What each costs at three store sizes

Assuming a $100 average order. Triple Whale's figures are its published entry points; it doesn't publish a price per GMV band, so a quote above the first band may come in higher.

Orders a monthAnnual GMVWeTrackedTriple Whale
500$600KStarter, $49Free, or Foundation from $219
3,000$3.6MBusiness, $149Foundation from $219, likely quoted higher
7,500$9MScale-up, $249Foundation from $219, likely quoted higher

WeTracked is the cheaper line item at every size. The comparison only holds if all you need is tracking. If you need attribution reporting, Triple Whale is buying you something WeTracked doesn't sell.

Which is more accurate?

They measure different kinds of accuracy, so test each on its own job.

For WeTracked, accuracy means how many of your real orders reach each ad platform. WeTracked's FAQ says clients see 95 to 100% accuracy; that's its own claim. Check it: compare purchases in Meta Events Manager and TikTok Ads Manager against Shopify orders for the same week, before and after the trial.

For Triple Whale, accuracy means whether orders are credited to the right channel. Compare its attributed revenue with Shopify's total, then spot-check a sample of orders against what you know of each customer's journey.

One caution on method: WeTracked describes its matching as a digital fingerprint that it calls GDPR-compliant and resistant to ad blockers. If your consent setup or legal advice rules out fingerprinting, check that with WeTracked before you install it.

What do reviewers say about each?

Triple Whale holds 4.1 stars from 94 reviews on the Shopify App Store; 17 of the 94 (18%) are one-star. Our Triple Whale overview covers what reviewers praise and criticize, including cancelling a 12-month plan.

WeTracked's own site cites a 4.9 out of 5 average rating from its users and more than 11,000 merchants. Those are its own figures. We couldn't load a Shopify App Store listing to check them independently on October 24, 2026.

Which should you choose: WeTracked or Triple Whale?

If your store...Choose
Sees Meta or TikTok reporting fewer purchases than ShopifyWeTracked
Runs several small stores and wants one low billWeTracked
Needs order filters per ad accountWeTracked
Wants to know which channels and campaigns earn profitTriple Whale
Wants cohorts, LTV, product and creative reportingTriple Whale
Needs MMM or incrementality testingTriple Whale (Compass)
Can't sign a 12-month contractWeTracked
Sells more than 7,500 orders a monthEither, on a quote: WeTracked Enterprise or a higher Triple Whale band

Plenty of stores start with WeTracked and add an attribution tool later. If you do, decide which tool owns the standard events before you add the second.

When neither is the right fit

Some stores compare these two because they want both things: complete server-side events reaching the ad platforms, and attribution they can trust, on one month-to-month bill.

Upstack Data, our product, covers those two jobs. Upstack Signal sends events server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and Klaviyo, and resolves visitors against an identity graph of 750M+ devices and 150M+ customers using deterministic and probabilistic matching, rather than a browser fingerprint. Upstack Attribution reports first-click, last-click and any-click attribution. Attribution + Signal is $199 a month for up to 1,000 orders and $349 for up to 3,000, month to month, with a 21-day free trial and a 60-day 4x ROI guarantee. It's dearer than WeTracked at most sizes, it focuses on Shopify and DTC brands, and it doesn't offer MMM, incrementality testing or an AI agent.

Frequently asked questions

Is WeTracked an alternative to Triple Whale?

Only for the tracking part. WeTracked sends more complete conversions to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and X. It doesn't publish attribution models or offer cohort, LTV or profit reporting, which is most of what Triple Whale sells.

Is WeTracked cheaper than Triple Whale?

Yes, at every published price. WeTracked runs from $49 to $249 a month for up to 7,500 orders, billed monthly. Triple Whale's paid plans start at $219 a month on a 12-month term and rise with your GMV band, though its Free plan costs nothing.

Does Triple Whale do server-side tracking like WeTracked?

Yes. Sonar Optimize sends enriched events to ten ad platforms' Conversions APIs, with a deduplication key, on every paid plan. The Triple Pixel itself is a browser script; Sonar handles the server-side sending.

Can I use WeTracked and Triple Whale together?

Yes, if only one of them sends standard events such as Purchase to each ad platform. Triple Whale's guide describes a Meta setup where Sonar sends attribution passback only, alongside another Conversions API provider.

Triple Whale vs WeTracked: which is better for a small store?

For a store under 500 orders a month that manages ads inside Meta and TikTok, WeTracked's $49 Starter plan fixes the most common problem for the least money. If you also want attribution, Triple Whale's Free plan adds first-click and last-click reporting at no cost.

Does WeTracked use cookies or fingerprinting?

Both, by its own description. WeTracked says it uses first-party tracking and a digital fingerprint that it calls GDPR-compliant and resistant to ad blockers. Check that against your consent setup.
