Comparison

Upstack vs WeTracked

WeTracked recovers ad-platform signal. Upstack recovers people. Their stated mechanism is a digital fingerprint built to defeat blockers, tuned to make the conversion count in Ads Manager go back up. Ours is deterministic first-party identity, which produces a customer record you can also act on in Klaviyo, in segments and in LTV — not only a better number in a dashboard.

Why brands switch

Three differences in method, not in price.

WeTracked is cheaper than us at most volumes and includes attribution on every tier, so this page is not a value argument. It is about how a visitor gets matched, and what you can do with the match afterwards.

  • 01

    Deterministic identity, not a fingerprint

WeTracked’s own description of its engine is an adblock-proof, cookie-proof digital fingerprint that works cross-device and cross-session. It is effective at restoring a conversion count. Upstack matches on first-party identifiers a customer gave you, which produces a durable customer record rather than a probable match.

  • 02

Built on what regulators are steering toward

Fingerprinting is the technique browsers, Apple and EU regulators have spent five years degrading. Consented first-party identity is the one they are steering toward. That is a durability question rather than a legal one, but it is the question worth asking about any tracking method you are about to depend on.

  • 03

    Somebody configures it for you

WeTracked is self-serve: nine steps in a dashboard, then a queue for their team to review and activate your store. That is genuinely fast. But nobody looks at your particular stack, your subscription app, your checkout extensions or your existing pixels before it goes live.

WeTracked figures come from their published pricing page, feature pages and help documentation, verified 2026-07-29. Two things we will say plainly: WeTracked is cheaper than us at comparable order volumes, and it does include attribution reporting on every tier. Our argument is about method — deterministic identity versus fingerprinting — and about who configures it, not about price or missing features. Their Enterprise tier is listed as custom on their site and $349 on the Shopify App Store; we have not resolved which is current.

What it costs

Compare the stack, not the line item.

Both at roughly 7,500 orders a month. WeTracked is between a third and a half our price at every band, and if cost is the deciding factor you should buy theirs. This page exists to say what the difference buys.

From brands who switched

What they said after moving.

  • Moved from a competitor to Upstack and have a very clear picture that Upstack is a faster setup, with a much more competent team, amazing customer service, and better performance, for a cheaper price — it’s not even close.

  • Setup took one call. The thing I did not expect was someone actually looking at our subscription app and our checkout extensions before switching it on.

Migration

Switching takes under 20 minutes.

Both tools install without a developer and neither touches DNS, so running them side by side for a week costs you nothing but the trial.

  1. Install the Upstack Shopify app. Both can run at once; there is no pixel conflict.

    4 min
  2. Connect your platforms. Meta, Google, TikTok and Klaviyo.

    5 min
  3. We configure the pipeline. Conversions API, identity resolution and attribution.

    automatic
  4. Compare matched customers, not just conversion counts. Fingerprint matching lifts the count; look at whether the match survives into Klaviyo.

    week one
  5. Check your multi-store position. If you run several stores on their plan, price both models before switching.

    week one
  6. Switch when the numbers convince you. Both are month to month, so there is nothing to unwind.

    when ready

The honest part

When WeTracked is the better choice.

  • You run several stores

Three stores on their $49 plan and ten on the $249 plan, under one subscription. If you operate a portfolio of brands or you are an agency, that is a materially better commercial structure than paying per store.

  • You advertise beyond the big three

Reddit, Microsoft, Taboola, X, Snapchat and Pinterest out of the box. If a meaningful share of your spend is on native or Bing, they cover it and we would be adding work.

  • You are not only on Shopify

WooCommerce plus Funnelish, CheckoutChamp, Sticky.io, Checkify and other funnel checkouts. Hybrid DTC-and-funnel advertisers are simply out of our scope.

  • You want the cheapest way to lift a conversion count

At $49 for 500 orders and $249 at 7,500, nothing we sell competes on price. If your goal is specifically to get Meta reporting more conversions and you are comfortable with fingerprint-based matching, that is a rational purchase and we would not talk you out of it.

Common questions

Upstack vs WeTracked, answered.

Is WeTracked cheaper than Upstack?

Yes, substantially, at every volume. Their entry plan is $49 against our $149, and at 7,500 orders they are $249 against our $699 for Attribution. They also bundle several stores into one subscription. If you are optimising for cost, buy theirs. The comparison worth having is about method, not price.

Does WeTracked have attribution reporting?

Yes. Their Pulse dashboard reports revenue by campaign and ad across Meta, Google and TikTok, and it is included on every tier.

What is the actual difference, then?

How a visitor is matched. WeTracked describes its engine as a digital fingerprint built to survive ad blockers and cookie restrictions. Upstack matches deterministically on first-party identifiers a customer gave you. Fingerprinting is very effective at restoring a conversion count; deterministic identity produces a customer record you can also use in Klaviyo flows, cohorts and LTV.

Is fingerprinting a problem?

It is a durability question rather than a legal one, and we are careful not to overstate it. Fingerprinting is the technique browser vendors and regulators have spent years degrading. If you are choosing a method to depend on for the next few years, that is worth weighing.

Do they support platforms you do not?

Yes — WooCommerce and several funnel checkouts, plus Reddit, Bing, X and Taboola as ad destinations. If those matter to you they are the better fit.

How does setup differ?

Both are quick and neither needs a developer. Theirs is self-serve with an activation review by their team; ours is a call with a US-based rep who configures it against your particular stack. Same price band either way.
