Comparison

Upstack vs Aimerce

Aimerce and Upstack are trying to solve the same problem, and their Durable ID is a genuinely good answer to cookie expiry. The difference is packaging and price: Aimerce puts attribution reporting, user journeys and custom events behind its $499 Growth tier, and bills per order above the included volume. Upstack includes attribution at $149 with fixed order bands.

Why brands switch

Three differences in what you get for the price.

Aimerce is solving the same problem we are, and Durable ID is a good answer to cookie expiry. The differences are about which tier the reporting sits behind and how the bill behaves in a busy month.

  • 01

Attribution should not be an upsell

On Aimerce, Essential at $299 gives you signal delivery and dashboards. Attribution analytics, user journeys and custom events start at Growth, which is $499. Upstack includes multi-touch attribution, cohorts and contribution margin in every plan, starting at $149.

  • 02

Overage rates fall as you scale

Aimerce Essential includes 1,000 orders and charges $0.10 for each one after that. Upstack publishes an overage rate for every plan and tier, with the rate declining as monthly order volume grows.

  • 03

Configured for you, not just installed fast

Both install quickly and neither needs a developer — theirs claims 15 to 20 minutes and it is a clean Shopify-native install. What we add is a person who looks at your subscription app, your checkout extensions and your existing pixels before anything goes live.

Aimerce figures come from their published pricing page, how-it-works page and Shopify App Store listing, verified 2026-07-29. Two things worth being straight about: Aimerce does have identity resolution — Durable ID is their headline feature and a good one — and their trial terms are longer, at 30 days plus a 30-day refund against our 21-day trial. Our argument is about what is included at what price, not about capability.

What it costs

Compare the stack, not the line item.

A store doing 3,000 orders a month that wants attribution reporting. The two land at the same monthly figure — the difference is what happens in a month that spikes, and above 10,000 orders where their Growth tier stays flat and we move up a band.

    • Attribution, 3,000 orders$499

    • Overage after 3,000 orders$0.25 / order

Essential at 3,000 orders is $299 plus $0.10 on 2,000 orders, so $499 either way — but only the Growth tier includes attribution reporting.

From brands who switched

What they said after moving.

  • We looked at several competitors and talked to some of their customers. From our research, Upstack was by far the clear winner in terms of data accuracy, customer service and pricing.

  • We have extended experience with other options out there. This is the best experience and the steadiest results I have seen across any other software we have worked with.

  • Setup took one call. The thing I did not expect was someone actually looking at our subscription app and our checkout extensions before switching it on.

Migration

Switching takes under 20 minutes.

Both install in about twenty minutes with no developer and no DNS changes, so the honest way to choose is to run both on your own traffic and compare match quality.

  1. Install the Upstack Shopify app. Their Durable Pixel can keep running while you compare.

    4 min
  2. Connect your platforms. Meta, Google, TikTok and Klaviyo.

    5 min
  3. We configure the pipeline. Conversions API, identity resolution and attribution, included at every tier.

    automatic
  4. Compare on your own traffic. Use their 30-day trial and our 10 in the same window. Same store, same period.

    week one
  5. Watch express-checkout orders specifically. Shop Pay and PayPal are where click IDs are lost; check both tools on those orders.

    week one
  6. Uninstall when you are satisfied. Shopify-native on both sides, so removal is clean either way.

    when ready

The honest part

When Aimerce is the better choice.

  • Their trial terms are longer than ours

Thirty days free, then a 30-day money-back window from purchase. Ours is a 21-day trial. If you want a full month of your own data before deciding anything, theirs is the longer on-ramp.

  • Express-checkout click ID relinking

Shop Pay, PayPal and Apple Pay routinely destroy click IDs, and Aimerce names that problem explicitly and sells a fix for it. Most tools in this category do not even mention it. If a large share of your orders come through express checkout, ask both of us about it specifically.

  • The clearest technical story in the category

“Safari kills your cookie in seven days; our first-party ID lasts a year” is a real mechanism explained in one sentence. That clarity is worth something when you are trying to work out what you are actually buying.

  • Founder-led support with a strong record

A 5.0 rating on the Shopify App Store with no review below four stars, and reviewers repeatedly naming the founder answering email at the weekend. Backed by Upfront Ventures, with an engineering background at Instagram and Reddit. That is a real signal.

Common questions

Upstack vs Aimerce, answered.

Does Aimerce do identity resolution?

Yes — Durable ID is their headline feature, a persistent first-party identifier they say lasts a year against Safari’s seven-day cap, with cross-device matching and express-checkout click ID relinking. It is a good product and we are comparing on packaging, not on whether they have the capability.

Does Aimerce include attribution reporting?

On Growth at $499/mo and Enterprise, yes. Their Essential tier at $299 covers signal delivery, Klaviyo revenue amplification and EMQ dashboards, but not attribution analytics, user journeys or custom events. Upstack includes attribution from $149.

How does the pricing actually compare?

Aimerce Essential is $299 for 1,000 orders, then $0.10 per order above that; Growth is $499 for 10,000. Upstack publishes a tier-specific overage rate for every plan, declining from $0.30 to $0.05 per additional order on Attribution as volume grows.

Whose trial is longer?

Theirs. Thirty days free plus a 30-day refund window, against our 21-day trial. We have a 60-day ROI guarantee on Scale and above, but on trial length alone they are ahead.

What attribution models does Aimerce offer?

We could not determine that from their public documentation, so we are not going to characterise it. Ask them directly — and ask us too. Ours are first click, last click, any click and a data-driven model.

Can I try both?

Yes, and honestly you should. Both install in about twenty minutes without a developer and neither requires DNS changes, so you can run them side by side and compare match quality on your own traffic before choosing.
