How they differ
Three differences, starting with where your data lives.
Polar sells a data platform first: a warehouse, a semantic layer and AI agents, with a pixel and attribution built in. Upstack works at collection, resolving each visitor before the event is sent, then reports on the same data. Polar does more with data once it lands; Upstack fixes what your ad platforms receive.
01
A data warehouse and agents, or tracking and attribution
Polar gives every brand a dedicated Snowflake database with a semantic layer of 400+ pre-built ecommerce metrics, BI dashboards over Shopify, Amazon, Meta, Google, TikTok and Klaviyo data, and AI agents that read from it. Upstack has no warehouse of its own and no BI layer. It resolves each visitor at collection, sends the events to your ad platforms and Klaviyo, and reports attribution, margin and LTV on the same data. On Attribution, those events can stream into a BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift warehouse you already run.
02
Events resolved and sent to more ad platforms
Polar’s pixel is served from your own domain and builds a Lifetime ID from fingerprints and logins across devices; its Advertising Signals send conversion events to the Meta and Google Ads Conversions APIs. Upstack Signal resolves each visitor with deterministic and probabilistic matching against 750M+ devices and 150M+ customers, keeps that identity for the customer’s lifetime, and sends server-side events to Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and Klaviyo.
03
Every price published, billed per order
Polar’s pricing page lists Core and Custom with no prices and asks you to book a demo; its Shopify listing shows Core from $750 a month, priced on online GMV, billed every 30 days with discounts for annual terms. Upstack charges per order and publishes every band: Attribution + Signal is $199 a month for up to 1,000 orders and $499 for up to 10,000, month to month, with a 21-day free trial.

Maelove Skincare United States · 3 months using the app After testing out and surveying a number of platforms in this space, we onboarded with UpStack based on a strong recommendation. It's been a few a months now and absolutely no regrets.
We've seen Event Quality Match scores in meta increase, adding reliable NC purchase, NC CPA and NC ROAS metrics in ad manager is massively helpful as we're very focused on optimizing for NC, Klaviyo abandon flows are picking up significantly more revenue outside of our standard abandon flows (this alone generates a very solid ROI on using UpStack).

Common questions
Polar Analytics vs Upstack: pricing and switching questions
Is Polar Analytics cheaper than Upstack?
Not at entry level. Polar’s Shopify listing shows Core from $750 a month, priced on online GMV, and its pricing page publishes no figures. Upstack Attribution + Signal is $199 a month for up to 1,000 orders, $349 for up to 3,000 and $499 for up to 10,000, month to month. At 15,000 orders it is $899, above Polar’s entry price, so get Polar’s quote at your GMV before you compare. Polar’s price also includes a warehouse and BI that Upstack doesn’t offer.
Where does Polar Analytics excel?
Data depth and AI. Every plan includes a dedicated Snowflake database, a semantic layer of 400+ ecommerce metrics, BI across Shopify, Amazon and your ad accounts, and a dedicated success manager. Its AI Operator watches your store and ads in Slack or Teams and, once you approve, shifts ad budgets, pauses sold-out ads or plans markdowns, and Polar MCP brings the same data into Claude and ChatGPT. Causal Lift geo tests, run by a Polar data scientist, measure incrementality. If an analyst or agency will use all of that, Polar is the better buy.
What does Upstack not do that Polar does?
Upstack has no data warehouse of its own and no BI layer, though resolved events can stream into a BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift warehouse you already run. It doesn’t run incrementality tests, has no AI agent that acts in your ad accounts, doesn’t bring in Amazon data and doesn’t send events to GA4. If those are what you are buying, Polar is the better fit, and we would say so on a call. Neither of us lists marketing mix modeling.
Does Polar Analytics have a pixel?
Yes. Every plan includes its first-party pixel, served from your own domain with server-side enrichment. It recognizes visitors with fingerprints and stitches logins across devices into a Lifetime ID, and its Advertising Signals send conversion events to the Meta and Google Ads Conversions APIs. Upstack resolves each visitor with deterministic and probabilistic matching against 750M+ devices and 150M+ customers, keeps the identity for the customer’s lifetime, and sends server-side events to Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and Klaviyo.
How many attribution models does each offer?
Polar’s help center lists eight, from First Click and Last Click to Full Paid Overlap and Full Impact, which splits credit across paid and unpaid channels with a Shapley value calculation. First Click is the default for its pixel metrics. Upstack offers three: first click, last click and any click, with unlimited lookback. On modeling breadth, Polar is ahead.
Can I run both?
Yes. Polar pulls data from each source, so Upstack can fix the events your ad platforms and Klaviyo receive while Polar stays your warehouse and BI. If both send conversions to Meta or Google Ads, send each event from one tool or share event IDs so no platform counts a purchase twice.
How does switching work?
Install the app and connect your platforms; we configure the pipeline in under 20 minutes of your time. Deduplicate any events both tools send, then compare the attribution reads for a week or two. Polar bills every 30 days, with discounts for annual terms, so check your terms before you cancel. Ours is month to month.
