How they differ

Where Tie and Audience part ways.

Both identify anonymous shoppers and add them to Klaviyo. They differ on what else you buy, how much you commit to and what reaches Meta, and Tie does more on several of them.

01

Identity alone, or identity with scores and inbox placement

Tie draws Tie ID, Tie Predict and Tie Priority from one credit balance. Predict scores shoppers daily from 1 to 10 on how likely they are to open, click and buy, and Priority works to land your campaigns in the Primary inbox instead of Promotions and warms your sending domains. Audience does one job: it identifies anonymous visitors from partner data, verifies the email and delivers the contact. If deliverability or predictive scoring is the problem, Tie covers it and Audience doesn’t.

02

A 12-month contract, or $200 a month to start

Every Tie plan runs on a 12-month contract, paid monthly or prepaid at 25% off, and identification starts on Launch at $24K a year billed monthly ($18K prepaid). Tie says it is built for brands with at least 100,000 monthly unique US visitors or 200,000 active CRM profiles. Audience packages begin at 8,000 matches for $200 a month, billed monthly on a yearly plan with a 60-day opt-out, and need a Signal plan from $149.

03

Matches sent to Meta with your events

Tie builds custom audiences in Meta and Google Ads from Tie IDs. Audience sends each match to Meta through the Conversions API, so page views and add-to-carts reach an Event Match Quality of 8+, on the same pixel as Signal’s server-side tracking. Both keep known shoppers from becoming duplicates: Tie reconnects shoppers who return on a new device, and Audience puts shoppers already in Klaviyo on a reactivation list.

Common questions

Tie (Revenue Roll) vs Upstack Audience: pricing and switching questions

Is Tie the same company as Revenue Roll?

Yes. Revenue Roll renamed itself Tie in mid-2025 and now runs at meettie.com, where the footer still links to a “Formerly Revenue Roll” page. Tie says existing accounts, data, pricing, integrations and support carried over unchanged. Revenue Roll began as an attribution tool and moved to visitor identification in 2023.

What is Tie?

Tie is a shopper intelligence platform for ecommerce brands, with three products on one credit balance. Tie ID identifies anonymous visitors and syncs them to Klaviyo and other platforms, Tie Predict scores shoppers daily on how likely they are to open, click and buy, and Tie Priority works to land your emails in the Primary inbox. Tie says it is for brands with at least 100,000 monthly unique US visitors or 200,000 active CRM profiles.

How does Tie identify anonymous visitors?

It matches each visit’s signals, such as IP, device characteristics, server-side events and behavior, against a 280M+ consented US identity graph built from 1,000+ data sources. Matches are deterministic to the household and probabilistic to the person, and a profile syncs only above a confidence threshold you set. Tie says it recognizes up to 70% of US visitors, and you can filter on demographics and behavior so credits go only to shoppers you would market to.

How much does Tie cost?

Tie sells credits on 12-month contracts. Billed monthly, Priority is $12K a year for 600,000 credits with no Tie ID, Launch $24K for 1.6 million and Scale $40K for 4 million; prepaying the year saves 25% ($9K, $18K and $30K). Enterprise is quoted. Tie ID uses one credit per unique visitor a month, Predict three credits per active profile a year and Priority about one credit per 30 emails, so identification starts on Launch.

How is Upstack Audience priced?

Per resolved match: one identified visitor is one match, even when it carries several emails or phone numbers. Starter is 8,000 matches for $200 a month, Growth 25,000 for $500 a month and Scale 80,000 for $1,200 a month, billed monthly on a yearly plan with a 60-day opt-out. Larger volumes are quoted. Audience needs a Signal plan, which is $149 a month for up to 1,000 orders, and has a 14-day free trial.

Is Upstack Audience cheaper than Tie?

To start, yes. Starter is $200 a month for 8,000 matches plus a Signal plan, on a yearly plan with a 60-day opt-out, where Tie’s identification begins on Launch at $24K a year billed monthly. Per identified visitor they are close: Tie Launch is $0.015 a credit billed monthly and less prepaid, and Audience runs from $0.025 down to $0.015 a match. Tie’s credits also pay for Predict and Priority, which Audience doesn’t offer.

Where does Tie do more than Audience?

Scope and channels. Tie adds daily predictive scores and Primary-inbox placement with domain warming, sends identified shoppers to Attentive and Postscript for SMS and to Google Ads as well as Meta, matches TikTok Shop orders to shopper profiles, and enriches profiles with mailing addresses for direct mail. It can also be bought on its own. Audience delivers to Klaviyo, Omnisend and Meta and needs a Signal plan.

Do I need Upstack Signal to use Audience?

Yes. Audience runs on the Upstack pixel and the identity Signal resolves, so it is sold as an add-on to a Signal plan. Signal is server-side tracking, the Conversions API and first-party identity resolution, none of which Tie’s pages list.

Tie vs Retention.com: how do they compare?

Both identify anonymous visitors from consented US networks and add them to Klaviyo. Tie publishes credit-based plans on 12-month contracts and adds predictive scores and inbox placement. Retention.com charges a flat monthly fee it doesn’t publish, month to month, and syncs with 12 email platforms. Retention.com offers a 14-day free trial; Tie a 7- or 30-day proof of concept.

Can I run Tie and Audience together?

Yes, for a trial. Exclude one tool’s new contacts from the other’s welcome flow so no shopper gets two, and compare new contacts, flow revenue and Meta match quality over the same weeks. Tie’s contracts run 12 months, so plan a switch for your renewal date.
