The best Opensend alternative depends on what you want to change. To stop paying per identity, Retention.com charges a flat monthly fee, though it doesn't publish the amount. For a lower price per identified shopper, Upstack Audience charges from $0.025 per resolved match, $200 a month for 8,000, on top of an Upstack Signal plan. Tie adds predictive scores and inbox placement on a 12-month contract, Customers.ai prices on the size of your Klaviyo list, and Instant Audiences works only from data your own shoppers give you.
We checked every price, plan, trial and data-source claim for these Opensend alternatives on each vendor's own site on October 24, 2026; Upstack is our product. Upstack Audience sits second in the first group, with its limitations listed as plainly as everyone else's, and if Opensend still fits after reading this, we say when.

What Opensend does, and what it costs
Opensend identifies anonymous visitors to an online store and sends them to your email and ad platforms. It sells three products, each priced on its own:
Connect identifies high-intent new visitors and syncs them to your marketing platforms, so welcome and abandonment flows can reach shoppers who never signed up.
Reconnect keeps identity across devices, browsers and sessions, so flows fire for customers you already have when they switch devices.
Ignite, formerly Fueled, sends server-side events to Meta, Google, TikTok, Klaviyo and Attentive. Opensend bought Fueled in early 2026, per its Q1 2026 product update.
It also sells Personas, AI audience cohorts for your email and ad platforms, and Revive, which replaces bouncing addresses with active ones; neither has a published price. Opensend's homepage describes a "proprietary database of opt-in consumer profiles" with 180M US shoppers and a 73% US match rate, and its FAQ says its sources are US publishers and it filters out traffic from outside the US.
On price, Connect is $400, $800 or $1,600 a month billed annually for 2,000+, 4,300+ or 9,500+ identities ($0.20, $0.186 and $0.168 each), or $500, $1,000 and $2,000 billed monthly. Reconnect is from $150 a month billed annually ($250 billed monthly), and Ignite from $250 a month. The trial is 14 days for $1. Every tier, the billing terms and worked costs are in our Opensend pricing guide; the company's background and data sources are in our Opensend review.
Why do people look for Opensend alternatives?
Opensend publishes its prices, offers a cheap trial and is used by more than 1,000 brands by its own count, so this isn't a list of complaints. The reasons that come up:
The bill follows your identities. Connect charges per identity delivered, $0.168 to $0.25 depending on tier and billing. You can cap identities and unused credit rolls over, but at the lowest published rate 10,000 identities a month is $1,680.
Three products, three prices.New-visitor identification, returning-shopper recognition and server-side events are bought separately. Connect and Reconnect at their first tiers, billed monthly, come to $750 a month.
US traffic only. If a large share of your visitors are outside the US, they won't be identified.
It isn't self-serve. Opensend's help center says its Shopify app isn't public on the App Store because its team onboards every brand, checking the email program, suppression and deliverability before launch. Some teams value that; others want to start without a sales call.
Competing head-to-head claims. Retention.com's comparison with Opensend reports a three-week test on one brand's traffic in which it earned $1.55 per email against Opensend's $0.49. It's a vendor test, which is a good reason to run your own.
How we compared these tools
Each tool was checked on the same questions: where the identity data comes from; what you pay for and the lowest published price; whether new contacts land in your own email platform; what happens to shoppers you already have; what reaches Meta; whether you can try it first, and on what contract; and who should skip it. Everything comes from vendor pricing pages, product pages, FAQs and help centers, checked October 24, 2026. Where a vendor publishes no price we say "quoted", and we left out review-site ratings because we didn't check them. For background on how identification works, see our guide to website visitor identification.
Opensend alternatives that add new contacts to your email platform
These four do Connect's job: they match anonymous visitors against outside data and put the result in your own marketing tools.
1
1. Retention.com: a flat monthly fee instead of per-identity pricing
Our take. Retention.com is the closest like-for-like swap. It sells the same two jobs, list growth and abandonment recovery, but on a flat monthly fee, so a traffic spike doesn't raise the bill. The catch is that the fee isn't published, so you only learn whether it beats Opensend at your volume on a call.
US brands at volumes where per-identity pricing gets expensive, and brands that want identity delivered beyond the email platform.
How it works
A pixel matches visitors against a network in which, per its DTC page, "every person in our network has opted in to partner marketing," geofenced to the US. Emails are inbox-verified and synced in real time to Klaviyo, Attentive, Omnisend and nine more email platforms, where they grow your list and let abandonment flows fire for subscribers who weren't recognized. It also sends hashed-email audiences to Meta and supports SMS recovery. Its comparison page cites 250M+ verified US identities with 600+ attributes per match, and delivery by email platform, CDP, API or flat file.
Pricing (October 2026)
A flat monthly fee, not published, per its comparison with Opensend, which describes month-to-month billing you can pause in slow seasons and a free trial. Neither that page nor its sign-up page gave a trial length when we checked.
Strengths
One fee whatever your volume, more delivery options than any tool here, and terms you can pause. SOC 2 Type II certified.
Limitations
No published price. US traffic only, and no net-new data collected from the EU or UK. Its head-to-head numbers against Opensend are its own.
2. Upstack Audience: per-match pricing for Klaviyo, Omnisend and Meta
Upstack is our product, so read this section knowing that.
Our take. Audience suits Shopify brands on Upstack Signal, or planning to be, that want new contacts in Klaviyo or Omnisend and the same identified shopper sent to Meta. Per identified visitor it costs a fraction of Opensend's rates. It isn't a standalone tool, though: it needs a Signal plan, and it delivers only to Klaviyo, Omnisend and Meta.
Skip it if you only want visitor identification without a tracking plan, or your email runs on something other than Klaviyo or Omnisend.
How it works, pricing, data and privacy, strengths and limitations
Best for
Shopify brands that want list growth and more identity in Meta's upper funnel, and that also want server-side tracking.
How it works
Audience is third-party visitor identification. It matches anonymous visitors against partner data collected on an opt-in basis and delivers each new contact to Klaviyo or Omnisend. The same match is sent to Meta for upper-funnel events such as page views and add-to-carts. One identified visitor is one match. It runs on Upstack Signal, our first-party tracking product, which recognizes the customers you already have.
Pricing (October 2026)
From $0.025 per resolved match, per the Upstack Audience pricing page: Starter is 8,000 matches a month for $200, Growth 25,000 for $500 ($0.020 each) and Scale 80,000 for $1,200 ($0.015 each). Billed monthly on a yearly plan with a 60-dayopt-out, and unused matches roll over. 14-day free trial. Audience needs a Signal plan, which is $149 a month for up to 1,000 orders; every band is on our pricing page.
Data and privacy
Partner data is collected on an opt-in basis, and California residents can opt out under the CCPA.
Strengths
A published price per match that sits well below Opensend's per-identity rates, and identity sent to Meta as well as your email platform.
Limitations
Requires a Signal plan, so it can't be bought on its own. Delivers only to Klaviyo, Omnisend and Meta, with no Attentive, Braze, Iterable, Bloomreach or SMS platform. A yearly plan, where Opensend bills month to month. We don't publish a network size or an identification rate.
3. Tie: identity, predictive scores and inbox placement
Tie was called Revenue Roll until its rebrand; meettie.com still says "formerly Revenue Roll."
Our take. Tie is the broadest platform here: identity, daily purchase scores and Primary-inbox placement, all drawn from one credit balance, with Postscript and Attentive among its integrations. Per identified visitor its credits cost less than Opensend's identities. It's also the biggest commitment: identification starts on a plan of $18,000 a year prepaid, and every plan runs on a 12-month contract.
Skip it if you want month-to-month terms or an identification budget under $2,000 a month. See our Upstack vs Tie comparison.
How it works, pricing, strengths and limitations
Best for
Larger brands that want identity, predictive scoring and deliverability work from one vendor.
How it works
Tie ID turns anonymous traffic into known shoppers, resolved across devices and aliases, with demographic attributes on every ID. Tie's FAQ says it recognizes up to 70% of US website visitors in real time, that every match is deterministic to the household with a probabilistic layer picking the person, and that it acts only as a data processor and never shares data across clients. It integrates with Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Iterable, Braze and Bloomreach, plus Shopify, Meta and Google, and is SOC 2 Type I and II certified.
Pricing (October 2026)
Credit-based on 12-month contracts, per its pricing page. Tie ID starts on Launch: 1.6M credits a year for $24,000 billed monthly ($2,000 a month), or $18,000 prepaid. Tie ID uses one credit per unique visitor per month, so Launch covers about 133,000 identified visitors a month if every credit goes to identification. Priority ($12,000 a year billed monthly, no Tie ID) and Scale ($40,000) sit either side, and Enterprise is custom. Proof of concept is 7 days on Priority and 30 days from Launch up.
Strengths
SMS integrations, demographic filters that let you spend credits only on shoppers worth identifying, and one balance across three products.
Limitations
No identification below the Launch plan, and a 12-month contract on every plan.
4. Customers.ai: visitor ID priced on your Klaviyo list
Our take. Customers.ai is built around Klaviyo: its price follows your Klaviyo profile count, and it sells Super CAPI, server-side tracking for Meta Ads, as an add-on. It suits a Klaviyo-first brand that wants a short trial before any sales call. It doesn't say where its identity data comes from on the pages we checked.
Skip it if you don't use Klaviyo; its pricing and positioning are built around it.
How it works, pricing, strengths and limitations
Best for
Shopify brands running Klaviyo that want visitor ID and Meta server-side tracking from one vendor.
How it works
The X-Ray identity engine identifies visitors through a pixel on every page and syncs them to your ESP, CRM and ad accounts. Its Alfred AI agent handles suppression, reactivation and inbox placement, per its pricing page.
Pricing (October 2026)
A calculator on its pricing page prices by Klaviyo profiles. At 1,000 profiles, X-Ray at the Platinum level is $299 a month on the default 6-month contract; the Alfred AI agent and Super CAPI add $149 a month each, so all three come to $597. Contracts run 3, 6 or 12 months. The 7-day free trial needs no card and covers up to 500 visitor resolutions. It advertises a guaranteed 4x ROI.
Strengths
A self-serve trial, contracts from 3 months, and Meta server-side tracking from the same vendor.
Limitations
The price rises with your Klaviyo list rather than with identities, the data source isn't published, and the shortest contract is 3 months.
An Opensend alternative that only uses your own shoppers' data
5
5. Instant Audiences: first-party capture for larger Shopify stores
Our take. Instant is closer to Reconnect than to Connect. It doesn't sell you outside contacts: it captures the emails shoppers give on your own site and remembers them on every return visit, so behavior-based flows fire. It's aimed at large Shopify stores, and the Audiences price isn't published.
Skip it if your store does under $250,000 a month, or you want new contacts from shoppers who never gave you an email. See our Upstack vs Instant comparison.
How it works, pricing, strengths and limitations
Best for
Shopify stores above $250,000 a month in revenue that want more abandonment flows to fire from their own traffic, without third-party data.
How it works
Instant Audiences "captures and remembers first-party shopper data," identifies returning shoppers in real time and triggers flows when they show intent, per its Audiences page. Instant says 2,000+ brands use it, and it integrates with Shopify, Klaviyo and Meta.
Pricing (October 2026)
Audiences isn't priced separately on Instant's pricing page, which lists its AI email plan at $1,000 a month and SMS from $0.009 a message, month to month with no setup fees. Its FAQ says Instant works best above $250,000 a month in Shopify revenue.
Strengths
First-party data only, month-to-month terms, and an AI email and SMS product from the same vendor.
Limitations
No new contacts from outside your own traffic, no published Audiences price, a high revenue threshold, and Shopify only.
Opensend is still the right tool if most of these are true:
You want visitor identification on its own, with no tracking plan to buy.
Your email runs on Braze, Iterable, Bloomreach, Listrak, Sendlane, Yotpo or Salesforce Marketing Cloud, which Opensend integrates with and most tools here don't.
You want a published price, month-to-month billing and a $1 trial.
You want new-visitor identification, returning-shopper recognition and server-side events from one vendor.
Most of your traffic is in the US.
If that's you, the better move may be testing a second tool on the same traffic before deciding, since every vendor's head-to-head numbers are its own.
How to switch from Opensend
Check your billing date. Opensend's terms of use describe month-to-month service that renews on the first of each month. Cancel before the month ends: requests can take up to three business days, and you lose access to lead information you haven't downloaded. If you pay annually, ask how the rest of the term is handled; the terms, last revised in March 2022, don't cover annual billing.
Keep a segment of Opensend's contacts. In Klaviyo or your email platform, segment the contacts Opensend added so you can compare their revenue and engagement with the new tool's.
Run the new tool alongside for two to four weeks on the same traffic. Compare revenue per identified contact, unsubscribes and spam complaints.
Avoid double welcome emails. Two tools adding the same shopper can trigger two welcome or abandonment emails. Exclude one tool's contacts from the other's flows while both run; Opensend accepts a suppression list.
Decide who sends server-side events. If you use Ignite and the new tool also sends events to Meta, two senders on one pixel rarely share event IDs, so Meta counts an order twice. Keep one sender for each event.
Remove Opensend's code. Turn off the Opensend app embed in your Shopify theme and uninstall the app, then check Settings > Customer events for any Opensend pixel left behind. If you installed its JavaScript pixel or set up a CNAME record for it, remove those too.

Opensend pricing (2026): Connect, Reconnect and Ignite prices, billing terms and worked costs.
Opensend review: what Opensend is, where its data comes from and whether it's legit.
It depends on the job. For a flat fee instead of per-identity pricing, Retention.com. For a lower price per identified shopper with matches sent to Meta, Upstack Audience, if you also run Upstack Signal. For identity plus predictive scores and SMS integrations, Tie. For a Klaviyo-priced tool with a self-serve trial, Customers.ai. If you'd rather use only your own shoppers' data, Instant Audiences.
Who are Opensend's competitors?
The tools Shopify brands compare it with most are Retention.com, Tie (formerly Revenue Roll), Customers.ai, Instant and Upstack Audience. Opensend's own site publishes comparison pages against several of them, including Retention.com, Wunderkind, Tie, Instant, Digioh, GetGobot and LeadPost.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Opensend?
Per identified visitor, yes. Opensend Connect charges $0.168 to $0.25 per identity. Upstack Audience is $0.015 to $0.025 per match, from $200 a month for 8,000, plus a Signal plan. Tie's credits are $0.01 to $0.02 each, one per identified visitor a month, but identification needs a plan of $18,000 a year prepaid. Customers.ai is $299 a month at 1,000 Klaviyo profiles. Retention.com doesn't publish its flat fee, so compare it with a quote.
Do Opensend alternatives work outside the US?
Opensend and Retention.com both identify US traffic only; Retention.com also collects no net-new data from the EU or UK. Tie quotes its match rate for US visitors. Instant Audiences only uses emails shoppers give on your own site, so it doesn't depend on a US network. Check any vendor's coverage against your own traffic before you sign.
Which Opensend alternatives send identified shoppers to Meta?
Upstack Audience sends each match to Meta for upper-funnel events. Customers.ai sells Super CAPI, server-side tracking for Meta Ads, as an add-on. Retention.com and Tie build Meta audiences, and Instant integrates with Meta. Opensend's own Ignite sends server-side events to Meta. Our Event Match Quality guide explains why the identity on each event matters.
Can I run Opensend and another tool at the same time?
Yes, for a test. Exclude each tool's new contacts from the other's welcome and abandonment flows so no shopper gets two emails, keep total sending volume steady to protect your sender reputation, and compare revenue per contact over the same weeks.
