5 Tie (Revenue Roll) Alternatives Compared (2026): Visitor Identification, Klaviyo Flows and Contract Terms

The best Tie alternative depends on which part of Tie you use and how much commitment you want. Tie, which was called Revenue Roll until mid-2025, sells visitor identification (Tie ID) from $24,000 a year billed monthly, on a 12-month contract. For the same job month to month, Retention.com charges a flat fee it doesn't publish. For a published per-identity price, Opensend is $400 a month billed annually. For identification plus inbox placement, Customers.ai. For contacts in Klaviyo and matches sent to Meta, Upstack Audience is $200 a month for 8,000 matches on top of a Signal plan.

We checked every price, plan, trial, integration and consent claim for these Tie alternatives on each vendor's own pricing page, product pages, FAQ or help center on October 24, 2026; Upstack is our product. Upstack Audience sits in the first group with its limitations listed as plainly as everyone else's, and if Tie still fits after reading this, we say when.

What happened to Revenue Roll?

Revenue Roll renamed itself Tie in mid-2025, and meettie.com still carries a "Formerly Revenue Roll" page. Per that rebrand page, the company started in New York as a marketing attribution tool, pivoted to identifying anonymous website visitors in late 2022, and kept customers' accounts, pricing and integrations through the rename. So "Revenue Roll alternatives" and "Tie alternatives" are the same search: one company, one identity graph, now sold as three products (Tie ID, Tie Predict and Tie Priority) from one credit balance. Our Tie review covers the company's history and what customers say.

Why do people look for Tie alternatives?

Tie does a lot from one contract, and its G2 reviewers rate it highly. The reasons people compare it come up consistently:

  • A 12-month contract on every plan. Tie's FAQ says all contracts are annual. If you stop early, the remaining payments on your term are still due.
  • Identification costs at least $24,000 a year. The $12,000 Priority plan has no Tie ID. Visitor identification starts on Launch: $24,000 a year billed monthly, or $18,000 prepaid. Our Tie pricing guide goes plan by plan.
  • A traffic threshold. Tie says it's for brands with at least 100,000 monthly unique US visitors or 200,000 active CRM profiles, and Tie Predict needs about 100,000 active email subscribers to start scoring.
  • US traffic. Its match-rate claim (up to 70% of visitors) is for US visitors, and its FAQ says it avoids GDPR exposure by design.
  • Fewer email platforms than some rivals. Its integrations page lists Klaviyo, Attentive and Postscript as live, with Braze, Iterable and Bloomreach marked "coming soon."
  • Deliverability risk. On G2, 1 of 46 reviews (2%) mentions spam complaints from emailing identified visitors, and 2 of 46 (4%) mention cost. Spam complaints are a risk with any third-party identification tool, which is why every vendor here talks about verification.

How we compared these tools

Each tool was checked on the same questions: where the identity data comes from; what you pay for and the lowest published price; whether new contacts land in your own email platform; what happens to subscribers you already have; what reaches Meta; which email and SMS platforms it connects to; whether you can try it first, and on what contract; and who should skip it. Everything comes from vendor pricing pages, product pages, FAQs and help centers, checked October 24, 2026. Where a vendor publishes no price we say "quoted." For background on how identification works, see our guide to website visitor identification.

Tie alternatives that add new contacts to your email platform

These four do Tie ID's core job: they match anonymous visitors against outside data and put the result in your own marketing tools.

1. Retention.com: flat-fee identification, month to month

Our take. Retention.com is the closest swap for Tie ID if the contract is your problem. It sells list growth and abandonment recovery, adds SMS recovery for subscribers browsing anonymously, and bills month to month with the option to pause. You won't see the price until a call, and it has nothing like Tie Predict or Tie Priority.

Skip it if you want a price before the first call. Our Retention.com alternatives guide covers it in more depth, and Upstack vs Retention.com compares it with Upstack Audience.

How it works, pricing, integrations, strengths and limitations
Best for
US-focused DTC brands that want identification without an annual term.
How it works
A pixel matches visitors against a network whose members, per its DTC ecommerce page, have all opted in to partner marketing. Every email is inbox-verified before it reaches your email platform, and contacts are calibrated to your engagement levels to protect open rates. The network is geofenced to the US, with no net-new anonymous data collected from the EU or UK. It lists CAN-SPAM, CCPA and SOC 2 Type II.
Pricing (October 2026)
A flat monthly fee, month to month and pausable, per its comparison with Opensend. The amount isn't published. Its signup page offers a 14-day free trial with 1,000 identified leads.
Integrations
Klaviyo, Attentive, ActiveCampaign, Beehiiv, Brevo, Dotdigital, Drip, HubSpot, Iterable, Mailchimp, Maropost and Omnisend; Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Magento; webhooks and Zapier. It also pushes hashed-email audiences to Meta.
Strengths
Month-to-month terms you can pause, twelve email platforms including Attentive, and SMS recovery.
Limitations
No published price, no predictive scoring or inbox-placement product, US traffic only, and Postscript isn't in its integration list.

Source: Comparison with Opensend, checked October 2026.

2. Opensend: per-identity pricing with a published price list

Our take. Opensend is the one to pick if you want to see the price before a call. You pay per identity delivered, can bill monthly, and the trial costs $1. It also connects natively to more email platforms than Tie does today, including Braze, Iterable and Bloomreach. The trade-off is that your bill grows with your traffic, and there's no inbox-placement product.

Skip it if you want a fixed annual budget regardless of volume. Our Upstack vs Opensend comparison puts it next to Upstack Audience.

How it works, pricing, integrations, strengths and limitations
Best for
DTC brands, including ones below Tie's traffic threshold, that want a published price and pay for what they receive.
How it works
Connect identifies high-intent visitors and syncs them to your marketing platforms; Reconnect keeps identity across devices and browsers; Ignite sends behavioral event data to your platforms. Opensend's homepage describes a "proprietary database of opt-in consumer profiles" covering 180M US shoppers, and its pricing FAQ says it typically identifies 25 to 35% of anonymous visitors. Tie says up to 70%; vendors measure match rates differently, so test on your own traffic.
Pricing (October 2026)
Billed annually, Tier 1 is $400 a month for 2,000+ identities ($0.20 each), Tier 2 $800 for 4,300+ ($0.186) and Tier 3 $1,600 for 9,500+ ($0.168), per its pricing page. Billed monthly the same tiers are $500, $1,000 and $2,000 ($0.25, $0.233 and $0.211). Tier 1 is sized for 10,000 to 50,000 monthly visitors. Enterprise is quoted. Identities can be capped and unused credit rolls over. 14-day trial for $1.
Integrations
Klaviyo, Attentive (through Reconnect), Braze, Bloomreach, Iterable, Listrak, Sendlane, Yotpo and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, plus Facebook and Google retargeting, webhooks and Zapier, per its help center.
Strengths
A published price per identity, monthly billing, a cheap trial, and tiers sized for stores smaller than Tie's target.
Limitations
Cost scales with identities, so a traffic spike raises the bill unless you cap it. No inbox placement or predictive scoring, and no Postscript integration in its help center.

3. Upstack Audience: per-match pricing with matches sent to Meta

Upstack is our product, so read this section knowing that.

Our take. Audience suits Shopify brands that want new contacts in Klaviyo or Omnisend and stronger Meta matching from the same identified visitor, at $200 a month for 8,000 matches. It's narrower than Tie: no predictive scores, no inbox placement and no SMS platforms, and it only runs on an Upstack Signal plan.

Skip it if you want identification on its own without a tracking plan, you run SMS on Attentive or Postscript, or inbox placement is the part of Tie you'd miss.

How it works, pricing, data and privacy, strengths and limitations
Best for
Shopify brands on Upstack Signal, or planning to be, that use Klaviyo or Omnisend.
How it works
Audience is third-party visitor identification. It matches anonymous visitors against our partner data network, verifies the email and delivers the contact. One resolved visitor is one match. In Klaviyo, new contacts land on an UpstackData list, and shoppers already in your account go to an UpstackData Reactivate list instead of being duplicated. The same match is sent to Meta through the Conversions API, so upper-funnel events such as page views and add-to-carts reach an Event Match Quality of 8+.
Pricing (October 2026)
From $0.025 per resolved match, per the Upstack Audience page: Starter is 8,000 matches a month for $200, Growth 25,000 for $500 ($0.020 each) and Scale 80,000 for $1,200 ($0.015 each). Billed monthly on a yearly plan you can opt out of within 60 days; unused matches roll over. 14-day free trial. Audience needs a Signal plan, priced separately on our pricing page: Signal is $149 a month for up to 1,000 orders.
Data and privacy
Partner data is collected on an opt-in basis, and California residents can opt out under the CCPA.
Strengths
A published per-match price, no duplicate profiles in Klaviyo, identity sent to Meta on your events, and a 60-day opt-out where Tie's contract runs the full 12 months.
Limitations
Requires a Signal plan. Delivers only to Klaviyo, Omnisend and Meta, with no Attentive or Postscript. A yearly plan. No predictive scoring or inbox placement. We don't publish the size of the partner network.

4. Customers.ai: visitor ID, inbox placement and Meta CAPI for Klaviyo brands

Our take. Customers.ai is the closest match to Tie's whole bundle. Its X-Ray identity engine identifies visitors, its Alfred AI agent adds predictive revenue analytics, automated suppression and reactivation, and inbox placement optimization, and Super CAPI adds server-side tracking for Meta Ads. It prices on your Klaviyo profile count with contracts from 3 months. It doesn't say where its identity data comes from on the pages we checked.

Skip it if you don't use Klaviyo; its pricing and positioning are built around it.

How it works, pricing, strengths and limitations
Best for
Klaviyo-first brands that want identification, list management and Meta server-side tracking from one vendor on a shorter contract than Tie.
How it works
X-Ray resolves visitors at three Signal Fidelity levels (Gold, Platinum, Titanium) and syncs weekly, daily or hourly. Alfred and Super CAPI are separate line items you add in its pricing calculator.
Pricing (October 2026)
At 1,000 Klaviyo profiles on the default 6-month contract, X-Ray at Platinum is $299 a month, and the Alfred AI agent and Super CAPI are $149 a month each, so all three come to $597 a month. Contracts run 3, 6 or 12 months. The 7-day free trial needs no card and covers up to 500 visitor resolutions. It advertises a guaranteed 4x ROI.
Strengths
Inbox placement and predictive features like Tie's, a shorter minimum contract, and Meta server-side tracking from the same vendor.
Limitations
The price rises with your Klaviyo list, the data source isn't published, and the minimum contract is 3 months.

A Tie alternative that works from your own traffic

5. Instant Audiences: first-party shopper capture for large Shopify stores

Our take. Instant doesn't add outside contacts. Audiences captures shoppers' emails on your own site and remembers them on every return visit, which covers the part of Tie ID that recognizes subscribers after a device or session change. Instant also sells AI email and SMS that sends the flows itself, month to month. It's built for large Shopify stores, and Audiences has no published price.

Skip it if your store does under $250,000 a month, or growing your list with new contacts is why you bought Tie. Our Upstack vs Instant comparison covers how Instant differs from tracking infrastructure.

How it works, pricing, integrations, strengths and limitations
Best for
Shopify stores above $250,000 a month in revenue that want more abandonment flows to fire from their own traffic.
How it works
Instant Audiences "captures and remembers first-party shopper data," identifies returning shoppers in real time and triggers flows on high-intent visits, per its Audiences page. Instant says 2,000+ brands use it.
Pricing (October 2026)
Audiences isn't priced separately on Instant's pricing page, which lists AI email from $1,000 a month and SMS from $0.009 a message, month to month with no setup fees. It says it works best above $250,000 a month in Shopify revenue.
Integrations
Shopify, Klaviyo and Meta.
Strengths
First-party capture on your own site, month-to-month terms, and email and SMS sending from the same vendor.
Limitations
No published Audiences price, a high revenue threshold, Shopify only, and no net-new contacts from outside your traffic.

When to stay on Tie

Tie is still the right tool if most of these are true:

  • You use two or three of its products (Tie ID, Tie Predict and Tie Priority) and value one credit balance across them.
  • Your SMS runs on Postscript or Attentive and you want identified shoppers synced there natively. Tie's integrations page cites Portland Leather Goods growing SMS revenue 16% with Tie and Postscript.
  • Your traffic clears 100,000 US visitors a month and your list clears 100,000 active subscribers, so Predict can score it.
  • Gmail Primary placement matters to your program, and you'd use Priority's holdout tests to prove the lift.
  • An annual contract paid by ACH auto-debit is fine for your finance team.

If that's you, the better move may be negotiating at renewal, or testing a second tool on the same traffic during the last month of your term, since every vendor's results are its own.

How to switch from Tie

  1. Find your contract end date. All Tie contracts are annual, and stopping early leaves the remaining payments due. Plan the switch for renewal, and spend unused credits first: Tie says they roll over month to month inside your contract.
  2. Segment what Tie added. In Klaviyo, keep a segment of the profiles Tie created or enriched, so you can compare their revenue, engagement and complaints with the new tool's.
  3. Run the replacement on the same traffic before your term ends. Most alternatives here have a trial: 14 days for Retention.com, Opensend and Upstack Audience, 7 days for Customers.ai. Compare new contacts, revenue per recipient, unsubscribes and spam complaints. Our guide to Klaviyo abandonment flows and identity resolution explains how those events reach Klaviyo.
  4. Keep one welcome email per shopper. Two tools adding the same shopper can trigger two welcome or abandonment emails. Exclude one tool's contacts from the other's flows while both run.
  5. Watch deliverability if you used Priority. Priority reorders sends and warms your domains; when it stops, so does that work. Watch your Google Postmaster reputation and Gmail open rates for the first few campaigns.
  6. Remove Tie's code and apps. Remove the Tie pixel, disconnect its Klaviyo, Postscript, Attentive, Meta and Google integrations, and delete the Tie app in Shopify under Settings, then Apps. Tie's help center says older accounts connect through a read-only custom app usually named Tie Integration App.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Tie?

It depends on the job. For identification without an annual contract, Retention.com. For a published per-identity price, Opensend. For identification plus inbox placement and predictive features, Customers.ai. For contacts in Klaviyo and matches sent to Meta's Conversions API, Upstack Audience, if you also run Upstack Signal. For recognizing your own returning shoppers on a large Shopify store, Instant Audiences.

Is Revenue Roll the same company as Tie?

Yes. Revenue Roll rebranded as Tie in mid-2025, and its site at meettie.com still says "formerly Revenue Roll." Accounts, pricing and integrations carried over through the rename, so a Revenue Roll alternative and a Tie alternative are the same thing.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Tie?

At the entry level, yes. Tie's visitor identification costs at least $24,000 a year billed monthly ($18,000 prepaid). Among published prices, Upstack Audience is $200 a month for 8,000 matches plus a Signal plan, Customers.ai's X-Ray is $299 a month at 1,000 Klaviyo profiles, and Opensend is $400 a month billed annually for 2,000+ identities. Per identified visitor, Tie's credits can work out cheaper at volume, but only if you use the balance you prepay for.

Which Tie alternatives don't need an annual contract?

Retention.com bills month to month and can be paused. Opensend can be billed monthly. Instant is month to month. Customers.ai's contracts start at 3 months. Upstack Audience runs on a yearly plan with a 60-day opt-out, and every Tie plan is a 12-month contract.

Who are Revenue Roll's competitors?

Revenue Roll, now Tie, competes most directly with Retention.com, Opensend, Customers.ai and Upstack Audience for visitor identification, and with Instant Audiences for recognizing returning shoppers. Customers.ai is the closest on inbox placement and predictive features.

Which Tie alternatives work with Attentive or Postscript?

Retention.com lists Attentive among its twelve email platforms, and Opensend connects to Attentive through Reconnect. None of the alternatives here lists Postscript as a native integration, so if Postscript is central to your program, check their webhook or Zapier routes, or stay on Tie.

Do any Tie alternatives offer inbox placement like Tie Priority?

Customers.ai's Alfred AI agent includes inbox placement optimization, alongside predictive revenue analytics and automated suppression. Retention.com calibrates the contacts it adds to your engagement levels to protect open rates, which is related but isn't a placement tool. Opensend, Instant Audiences and Upstack Audience don't sell inbox placement.

Each vendor here describes a consent basis: Tie a double opt-in network, Retention.com an opted-in partner network with CAN-SPAM and CCPA processes, Opensend opt-in consumer profiles, and Upstack Audience opt-in partner data with a CCPA opt-out. Rules differ by country, and Tie and Retention.com both focus on US traffic. Our visitor identification guide covers the legal questions.
