Elevar vs Littledata (2026): Shopify Server-Side Tracking, Destinations and Pricing Compared

Littledata fits Shopify stores that want every destination, Klaviyo included, on every plan, and it's the cheaper of the two at 1,000 orders a month. Elevar fits teams that want 50+ destinations to choose from and the option to build custom tags in Google Tag Manager, and its list prices are lower from 10,000 orders up. Both can run without GTM.

We checked both apps against their pricing pages, Shopify App Store listings and product pages on October 24, 2026. If neither fits, our comparison of 8 Elevar alternatives covers the wider field. Upstack is our product and comes up once, near the end.

How do Elevar and Littledata track conversions?

Both apps move Shopify's conversion events off the browser and send them server-side, so ad blockers and Safari's cookie limits don't decide what your ad platforms see. They differ in what they hand you.

Elevar builds a data layer first. Its pricing page describes a data layer and event pipeline that collects ecommerce events "for GTM, Shopify Web Pixel, and server-side tracking", and every plan includes monitoring that alerts you when a destination's tracking accuracy drops. From Advanced up you can add custom events and triggers and send profit signals; Premium adds predicted lifetime value. Its docs describe two ways to run it. A GTM setup gives full data layer customization, extra client-side events, custom triggers and extra parameters such as GA4 custom dimensions. A GTM-less setup sends events straight into Elevar's data layer, is configured in Elevar's own screens, and uses standardized client-side events built for Shopify; Elevar says it's live in minutes and needs no container upkeep. Our Elevar review covers the company and its move to the Audiense brand.

Littledata manages the connections for you. Per its Shopify conversion tracking page, it captures each Shopify event once (product views, add to cart, every checkout step, purchases, refunds and subscriptions) and delivers it to each destination through that platform's API, with no separate pixels to maintain. An Event Editor builds custom events from your Shopify apps and metafields without code, and Profit Signal reports net revenue next to order value. Both are on every plan, per its Shopify App Store listing.

So Google Tag Manager isn't what separates them. The difference is how far you can go: Elevar's GTM path lets a technical team customize almost anything, while Littledata keeps customization to its Event Editor and feature switches.

Destinations: what each plan can send to

This is where the two apps differ most, and it decides the price for many stores.

Littledata includes all 9 of its destinations on every plan, per its App Store listing. Its plans page lists these integrations: GA4, Meta, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Pinterest, TikTok, Klaviyo, Attentive and Recharge, with Segment added on Scale and Plus. There's nothing extra to buy, but there's also nothing beyond that list.

Elevar connects to far more: the Audiense pricing page lists ad platforms such as AppLovin, LinkedIn, Reddit, Spotify, Taboola and X, analytics tools such as Mixpanel and Microsoft Clarity, affiliate networks such as Impact, AWIN and CJ, BigQuery, and email and SMS tools including Klaviyo, Attentive, Braze, Omnisend and Postscript. Each plan caps how many you use:

  • Base and Core: up to 2 destinations, ad or analytics only. Klaviyo, affiliate and BI destinations aren't available on these plans.
  • Advanced: up to 4, any category.
  • Premium: up to 10.
  • Elite: up to 25.
  • Extra destinations: $125 a month each, on Advanced and up.

So a store sending to Meta, Google Ads, GA4 and Klaviyo needs Elevar's Advanced plan, whatever its order volume. On Littledata, the same four are on Flex.

Identity: Session Enrichment vs Persistent ID

Both apps now sell more than event forwarding. They try to recognize a returning shopper whose browser cookie has expired, so the order is credited to the right campaign and Klaviyo can trigger the right flow.

Elevar includes identity resolution and Session Enrichment on every plan, Base included. Its product page says it stores attribution data server-side for up to a year, recognizes returning visitors "even if they haven't logged in", and extends attribution "from ~24 hours to 1 year". Elevar also says Session Enrichment boosts Klaviyo flow performance by 2 to 3 times; that's its own figure.

Littledata splits this into two features on its Scale and Plus plans. Session Enrichment stitches each server-side order back to the session that drove it, cutting Direct and Unassigned revenue in GA4. Persistent ID, per its Google Analytics page, reconnects a shopper returning on the same device to their known profile "for up to a year". Flex has neither.

On paper the two look close: about a year of recognition each. The difference is the plan. On Elevar it comes with the free Base plan; on Littledata it starts at $199 a month.

Setup and day-to-day maintenance

Littledata says most stores have server-side tracking live within about 10 minutes: install the app, pick your destinations, and Littledata generates the credentials and handles the API connections. Plus adds managed onboarding with an analytics expert. There's no GTM container to keep working after a theme change, and the same is true of Elevar's GTM-less setup.

Elevar installs from the Shopify App Store too, and Audiense sells help on top: expert installation is $1,000 one-time, a headless installation $4,500, and analyst services $500 or $1,000 a month. When we checked, Audiense's product page was offering free white-glove installation to merchants who sign up before November 6. If you choose Elevar's GTM setup for the extra customization, that container is yours to maintain.

Low-star App Store reviews of Elevar most often mention a complex setup and the cost of paid installation. Littledata's low-star reviews are mostly about data and support once it's running, covered below.

Littledata vs Elevar pricing

Both price by orders, not revenue, and both bill through Shopify every 30 days. Prices below are monthly billing, from each app's Elevar and Littledata App Store listings on October 24, 2026.

Elevar: Base is free with 100 orders, then $0.75 per extra order. Core is $225 a month for 2,000 orders ($0.50 per extra), Advanced $650 for 10,000 ($0.15 per extra) and Premium $1,250 for 30,000 ($0.10 per extra). Elite starts at $3,000 a month for 75,000 orders, per the Audiense pricing page. Our Elevar pricing guide covers every plan and add-on.

Littledata: Flex is $0.35 per order with no minimum. Scale is $199 a month with 1,500 orders, then $0.15 per order to 3,000 and $0.06 above. Plus is $990 a month, or $9,504 a year, with 10,000 orders, then $0.03 per order to 50,000. Paying annually takes 20% off, which brings Scale to $159 a month and Plus to $792.

What the cheapest suitable plan costs each month:

Orders a monthElevarLittledata
1,000$225 (Core, 2 ad or analytics destinations)$199 (Scale; Flex would be $350)
1,000, including Klaviyo$650 (Advanced; Core has no email or SMS destinations)$199 (Scale)
10,000$650 (Advanced, 4 destinations)$844 (Scale: $199 + $225 + $420)
30,000$1,250 (Premium, 10 destinations)$1,590 (Plus: $990 + $600)

Littledata wins at low volume and whenever you need more destinations than Elevar's plan allows. Elevar's list price is lower from about 6,800 orders a month, provided its destination cap fits; a fifth destination on Advanced adds $125. Littledata's 20% annual discount narrows that gap if you can commit to a year.

Neither charges by revenue, so a higher average order value doesn't raise the bill.

Which is more accurate, Elevar or Littledata?

Neither publishes an independent accuracy test. Elevar says it captures "nearly 100%" of conversion data; Littledata's plans page calls itself "100% accurate server-side tracking for Shopify". Both send purchases from Shopify's servers rather than the browser, so both should beat a browser-only pixel on purchase counts.

The test that settles it for your store:

  1. Use one app's free trial on one destination, such as GA4 or Meta, for two weeks.
  2. Compare its purchase count and revenue in that platform with Shopify's orders for the same days.
  3. Check that new and returning customers are labelled the way your Shopify data says they should be.

Don't let both apps send the same Purchase event to the same platform at once, or Meta and Google will count sales twice. Littledata's 30-day trial is long enough to run this properly; Elevar's is 15 days.

What do Shopify reviewers say about each?

Elevar holds 4.8 stars from 170 App Store reviews. 153 are five-star, and 13 of 170 (8%) are one or two stars. Shopify's review summary says merchants credit it with cleaner tracking across GA4, GTM, Meta, Google Ads and Klaviyo, and a smooth expert installation. The low-star reviews most often mention a complex setup, installation fees, slow support and, in one case, charges after uninstalling; Elevar's founder replied to most of the ones we read. Our Elevar review goes through the themes in detail.

Littledata holds 4.8 stars from 147 reviews. 135 are five-star, and 10 of 147 (7%) are one or two stars. Shopify's summary says merchants value a near-100% match with Shopify orders, bot filtering, Recharge subscription reporting and fast support. Low-star reviews most often mention missed or double-counted conversions, slow support and price jumps at plan thresholds. One July 2026 reviewer expected add-to-cart events in Google Ads; Littledata replied that its direct Google Ads integration is designed to send purchase conversions.

The ratings are level. The complaints differ: Elevar's are about getting set up, Littledata's about data once it's running.

When neither is the right fit

Some brands compare these two because they want two things: complete server-side events reaching Meta and Klaviyo, and visitors recognized beyond one browser cookie. If you'd rather keep Google Tag Manager and host it yourself, see Stape vs Elevar.

Upstack Signal, our product, does the first job without a GTM container and handles identity differently: each visitor is resolved against our identity graph of 750M+ devices and 150M+ customers, using deterministic and probabilistic matching, and an Upstack ID persists for the life of the customer. It's priced per order and month to month: $149 a month to 1,000 orders, $399 to 10,000 and $1,199 to 30,000, with a 21-day free trial and setup in under 20 minutes. It has limits: no free plan, no data layer for building your own tags, published bands stop at 50,000 orders, and it's built Meta and Klaviyo first, so it doesn't send to GA4. If GA4 is where you report, Littledata is the better fit.

Frequently asked questions

Is Littledata cheaper than Elevar?

At low volume, yes. At 1,000 orders a month Littledata's Scale plan is $199 against $225 for Elevar Core, and if you need Klaviyo, Littledata stays at $199 while Elevar needs Advanced at $650. From about 6,800 orders a month Elevar's list price is lower, as long as its destination cap covers what you use.

Does Littledata need Google Tag Manager?

No. Littledata sets up server-side tracking without GTM or a developer, in about 10 minutes per its own site. Elevar doesn't need GTM either: its GTM-less setup is configured in Elevar's own screens. Choose Elevar's GTM setup only if you want custom client-side events and triggers.

Which is better for GA4, Elevar or Littledata?

Littledata, for most Shopify stores. GA4 is on every plan, Session Enrichment cuts Direct and Unassigned revenue, and you can set the source and medium for Point of Sale, TikTok Shop, Amazon and draft orders. Elevar sends to GA4 server-side too, but on Base and Core GA4 takes one of your two destinations.

Which handles the Meta Conversions API better?

Both send purchases and funnel events to Meta server-side. Elevar's returning-visitor recognition is on every plan, which can help Meta match more events; Littledata's Persistent ID needs Scale. Neither publishes an independent Event Match Quality test, so compare the scores in Meta Events Manager during a trial.

Can I switch from Elevar to Littledata without losing data?

Your history stays in GA4, Meta and the other platforms; switching only changes what's sent from the day you move. Start Littledata's trial on one destination, confirm its purchase counts against Shopify, then move the rest and remove Elevar, including any GTM tags it fed, so no event is sent twice.

Do Elevar and Littledata offer free trials?

Yes. Elevar's paid plans have a 15-day free trial, and its Base plan is free up to 100 orders a month. Every Littledata plan has a 30-day free trial, capped at 500 orders on Flex, 10,000 on Scale and 20,000 on Plus.
