Fospha vs Northbeam vs Rockerbox (2026): Daily MMM, Multi-Touch Attribution, Marketplaces and Pricing Compared
Fospha and Northbeam start from opposite ends. Fospha is a daily media mix model that needs no pixel and measures sales on your site, Amazon, TikTok Shop and retailers; it's built for brands spending over $150K a month on ads. Northbeam is pixel-based multi-touch attribution with MMM+ and incrementality as add-ons, and its Starter plan begins at $1,500 for smaller budgets. Rockerbox, owned by DoubleVerify, adds offline media and a data warehouse focus.
If neither fits, our comparison of 8 Northbeam alternatives covers the wider field. We checked every fact in this Fospha vs Northbeam comparison on each vendor's own site and docs on October 24, 2026. Upstack is our product; it's not an MMM, and we say where it fits at the end.

How do Fospha and Northbeam measure?
Fospha is a media mix model run every day. Its Core product, sold as Media Mix Attribution on the pricing page, retrains daily and credits sales to every impression, view and click down to the individual ad. The Core page describes an ensemble: deterministic click modelling for conversion paths, impression modelling for upper-funnel influence, and Bayesian saturation curves for marginal returns. Fospha says it moved away from pixel tracking early and uses no third-party cookies or user-level identifiers.
Northbeam is multi-touch attribution built on its own pixel. The pixel docs say it must fire on every page, all the time; visits it misses can't be recovered, and on sites with a consent banner it sends nothing until the visitor agrees. Northbeam offers seven attribution models, including three of its own: Clicks-Only, Clicks + Modeled Views and Clicks + Deterministic Views.
The practical difference: Northbeam shows you the path a tracked customer took, ad by ad. Fospha estimates each ad's contribution from spend, impressions and sales over time, so it doesn't depend on following individual visitors. Path data is easier to audit order by order; a model fills the gaps that privacy rules and ad blockers leave. Our guide to MTA vs MMM vs incrementality covers which method answers which question.
Data, setup and history
Fospha asks for admin access to your ad accounts, Google Analytics and ecommerce platform, with no code. Its pricing FAQ sets out the timeline: about three hours of setup, one to two weeks of data validation, and go-live by day 28 with 24 months of historical data available straight away. A Fospha onboarding specialist, customer success coordinator and account manager are assigned.
Northbeam needs its pixel in your theme and checkout plus the Shopify connector, or its Orders API on other platforms (Professional and up). Because attribution comes from the pixel, Northbeam's journeys start from the day it's installed. Its pricing FAQ also warns that numbers will look different from Meta Ads Manager, by design.
If you need a view of last year's performance on day one, Fospha's model gets you there. If you want order-level journeys you can export and check, Northbeam's pixel collects them, and Enterprise adds granular touchpoint exports.
Channels and marketplaces
This is where the two differ most for a brand that sells off its own site.
Fospha's integrations page lists live revenue sources beyond the store: Amazon, TikTok Shop, Sephora and Ulta Beauty, with Target and Walmart marked as next. Its Halo product measures how Meta, TikTok and Google ads drive sales on Amazon and TikTok Shop, and the pricing page says its MMM suite covers offline advertising too. Ad sources include Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, AppLovin, Amazon Ads, Tatari, MNTN, The Trade Desk and affiliate networks.
Northbeam's integrations page lists ad platforms including Meta, Google Ads, Microsoft, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest, Amazon Ads, The Trade Desk, Tatari and MNTN. It doesn't list Amazon or TikTok Shop sales as revenue sources. Its MTA is built around your own store's orders.
If a large share of your revenue comes from Amazon or TikTok Shop, Fospha is designed for that question. If almost all of it comes through your own store, Northbeam's path data covers the sales you care about.
MMM and incrementality testing
Both now sell MTA-style detail, MMM and testing, but they put them together differently.
- Fospha: the daily model is the foundation every customer runs on. A separate Marketing Mix Modeling suite handles strategic planning across online and offline media. Incrementality testing uses geo-lift tests that Fospha's measurement science team designs, runs and interprets, and results feed back into the forecasts.
- Northbeam: MTA is the foundation. MMM+ is optional on Enterprise and retrains daily, and Northbeam says it's the only MMM that can ingest native MTA data. Incrementality is optional on Professional and Enterprise, with test designs generated automatically from your spend, channel mix and conversion lag.
The choice is between a managed service and a self-serve tool. Fospha's tests come with a science team attached. Northbeam's are set up in the platform in minutes. For how lift tests work, see our incrementality testing guide.
Fospha vs Northbeam pricing
| Fospha | Northbeam | |
|---|---|---|
| Published prices | None; book a demo | Starter from $1,500; Professional from $3,500 a month |
| Structure | Four suites (Media Mix Attribution, Marketing Mix Modeling, Incrementality Testing, AI and Automation), each with Lite, Pro and Enterprise tiers | Growth, Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans by ad spend |
| Required base | Media Mix Attribution | Any plan |
| Minimum fit | Over $150K a month in ad spend | Starter is for brands under $1.5M a year in ad spend |
| What moves the price | Suites and tiers you choose | Ad spend, informed by pageviews |

| Term | Not published | Starter month to month; Professional and Enterprise annual |
| Free trial | None listed | None listed |
Neither company publishes the price of its MMM or testing products, so a like-for-like comparison needs two quotes with the same scope. Fospha's floor of $150K a month in ad spend sits just above the top of Northbeam's Starter band (about $125K a month), so smaller brands have only one of these two options. Our Northbeam pricing guide covers each Northbeam plan, ad credits and the pageview adjustment.
Fospha vs Northbeam vs Rockerbox
Rockerbox is the third name in the same buying conversation. It combines MTA, MMM and incrementality testing on one data foundation, and DoubleVerify announced its acquisition in February 2025.
| Fospha | Northbeam | Rockerbox | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Daily MMM | Pixel MTA | Data foundation with MTA, MMM and testing |
| Marketplaces | Amazon, TikTok Shop, retailers | – | – |

| Testing | Geo-lift, run by its team | Automated, self-serve | Incrementality tests |
| Time to live | Most clients in under 28 days | Not published | Tests in 1 to 2 weeks; MTA or MMM in 6 to 8 weeks |
| Data warehouse | – | Touchpoint exports on Enterprise | Exports to BigQuery, Redshift and Snowflake |
| Pricing | Not published | From $1,500 | Not published |

For a brand spending around $1M a month on ads, all three are in range: Northbeam's FAQ recommends Enterprise above $250K a month, and Fospha's floor is $150K. Pick by where your sales and spend sit. Heavy marketplace revenue points to Fospha. Mostly direct-to-consumer sales with a team that wants path-level data points to Northbeam. Large offline budgets or a warehouse-first data team point to Rockerbox. Which should you choose?
| If you... | Choose |
|---|---|
| Spend under $150K a month on ads | Northbeam (Starter or Growth) |
| Sell a large share on Amazon, TikTok Shop or at retailers | Fospha |
| Want order-level customer journeys you can export | Northbeam |
| Lose much of your traffic to consent banners and ad blockers | Fospha |
| Want 24 months of modelled history on day one | Fospha |
| Want incrementality tests designed and run for you | Fospha |
| Want self-serve incrementality tests in the platform | Northbeam |
| Spend heavily on TV, direct mail or podcasts | Rockerbox |
Skip Fospha if you spend under $150K a month on ads or want to see individual customer paths. Skip Northbeam if most of your revenue is on marketplaces or your consent rates are low enough to starve a pixel.
When neither fits
Both are measurement platforms for large budgets. If your real problem is that Meta and Google don't see enough of your conversions, or you want straightforward attribution reporting without a six-figure ad budget, an MMM won't fix it.
Upstack Data, our product, isn't an MMM and doesn't run incrementality tests. It does two jobs for Shopify and DTC brands: Upstack Signal sends server-side conversion events with identity resolution, backed by a graph of 750M+ devices and 150M+ customers, and Upstack Attribution reports first-click, last-click and any-click attribution. Pricing is per order and month to month: Attribution from $99 a month and Attribution + Signal from $199, with a 21-day free trial. Our 8 Northbeam alternatives covers more options at every budget.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fospha an MMM?
Yes. Fospha's foundation is a media mix model retrained every day, which it sells as Media Mix Attribution and describes as daily, ad-level measurement. It also sells a separate Marketing Mix Modeling suite for strategic planning across online and offline media.
Is Fospha better than Northbeam?
Neither is better across the board. Fospha suits brands spending over $150K a month with meaningful marketplace sales or low consent rates, because it models results without a pixel. Northbeam suits brands that want pixel-based customer journeys, self-serve testing and a lower entry point.
Which is cheaper, Fospha or Northbeam?
Northbeam is the only one with published prices: Starter from $1,500 and Professional from $3,500 a month. Fospha doesn't publish prices and is built for brands spending over $150K a month on ads, so for smaller budgets Northbeam is the cheaper option by default. Above that, compare quotes with the same scope.
Does Fospha work with Shopify?
Yes. Shopify is a live ecommerce integration, alongside WooCommerce, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Recharge. Fospha needs admin access to your ad accounts, GA4 and Shopify, and no code.
Does Northbeam measure Amazon sales?
Northbeam's integrations page lists Amazon Ads as an ad platform but not Amazon sales as a revenue source. Fospha's Halo product measures how your ads drive sales on Amazon and TikTok Shop.
Fospha vs Northbeam vs Rockerbox: which suits a brand spending $1M a month?
All three take brands at that budget. Choose Fospha for heavy marketplace revenue, Northbeam Enterprise for direct-to-consumer brands that want path-level data with MMM+, and Rockerbox for large offline budgets or a warehouse-first data team. Ask all three to quote with MMM and testing included.
